Mark W. Earley, PE, is an International Office electrical instructor for IAEI. He is a columnist for Electrical Contractor Magazine, the magazine of the National Electrical Contractors Association. He is also a consultant on the National Electrical Code. He recently retired as the chief electrical engineer at NFPA. He served as secretary of the NEC from 1989 to 2019. He was the editor-in-chief for 11 editions of the National Electrical Code Handbook, co-author of NFPA’s reference book Electrical Installations in Hazardous Locations, and editor for the NFPA 70E® Handbook for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
