L. Keith Lofland

L. Keith Lofland, having retired from IAEI at the end of 2021, is the former Director of Education, Codes and Standards for IAEI. Keith is the past Chairman of NEC CMP-7 and has served as a member of CMP-9. Keith has served on NFPA’s Electrical Section Executive Committee and is a past member of UL’s Electrical Council. Keith also served as a member of the technical committee for NFPA’s Guide on Electrical Inspections (NFPA 78) and the Standard for Electrical Inspector Professional Qualifications (NFPA 1078). He served as the principal author of several IAEI publications, including IAEI’s Analysis of Changes for the NEC. Prior to his position with IAEI, Keith spent 16 years as the Chief Electrical Inspector for Garland, Texas. Keith currently holds a Master Electrician license from the State of Texas and has Electrical Inspector certifications from IAEI and ICC. Keith received the Building Professional Institute’s “Building Official/Building Inspector of the Year” award in 1999 and the IAEI Gold Roadrunner award in 2014. Keith is a 40+ year member of IAEI, serving as Secretary/Treasurer for the Texas Chapter of IAEI from 1995-2004.

Joseph Wages Jr

Joseph Wages, Jr., is the Southern Technical Field Representative for NEMA. He is also the former Director of Education with IAEI. Previously, he held the positions of Technical Advisor, Education, Codes and Standards, and Seminar Coordinator at IAEI. He represented IAEI on NFPA’s NEC Code Making Panel-14 for the 2026 NEC. He previously represented IAEI on NFPA’s NEC Code Making Panel-2 for the 2020 and 2023 NEC code cycles and NFPA’s NEC Code Making Panel-3 for the 2014 and 2017 NEC. He serves on the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Electrical Council and on several UL Technical Standard Panels. Joseph continues to hold state electrical licenses and several IAEI and ICC building-related certifications.
